Blum Protection System against Contamination

A laser measuring system in a machine tool has to work reliably. Therefore all Blum laser tool setters are perfectly adapted to the harsh conditions of this environment:

During the machining operation the optics are mechanically sealed against the harsh environment by a mechanical shutter in front of the optics. The shutter is pneumatically operated for 100% reliable function.

A sudden air blow cleans the device and ejects dirt and chips. During the short measuring sequence the shutter is open and an air purge protects the optics against contamination.

The Blum Shutter System is the logical conclusion of more than 20 years experience in optical measurement in machine tools - In short: "If it's raining and storming outside you better close the window".
